Tribeca Ball - Behind the Scenes

Monday night was the New York Academy of Art's Tribeca Ball. The annual event is held to raise money and generate exposure for the school and students. Attendees include art collectors, critics, faculty, family, friends and a host of celebs, including Joan Rivers, Parker Posey, Matt Lauer, Mary Kate Olsen, Cindy Sherman, and so many more.

For me, the most exciting part of the night was seeing my fellow classmates' studios on display. The studios that the guests viewed were hardly our typical work spaces. Our artwork is usually hanging on walls encrusted with paint and obscured by loads art supplies. In the weeks leading up to the event, students spent hours clearing out their studios, cleaning, painting the walls, and curating their spaces.

Here are some shots of students prepping their studios.

Luckily we made it through without any ladder injuries!

My studio space almost ready for visitors.

As we prepared our studios, the building itself was transformed into an amazing party venue.

The party festivities on the fifth floor included walls of faculty and alumni artwork.
